Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Microsoft Power Automate Subject Matter Expert to join our IT Engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade automation workflows that streamline business processes across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and Microsoft

365 platform owners to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze processes, and translate them into automation solutions
  • Design, develop, and deploy automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate (cloud flows, desktop flows, and process advisor)
  • Build and maintain integrations between Power Automate and Microsoft 365 services (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Dataverse) as well as third-party systems via connectors and APIs
  • Provide training, guidance and best practices on implementing Power Automate workflows and integrations to team members in IT as well as citizen developers in other business areas
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing flows for performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Document workflows, integration patterns, and operational runbooks
  • Monitor flow health, manage error handling, and respond to production incidents
  • Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform roadmap updates and evaluate new capabilities for adoption

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow)
  • Strong proficiency with cloud flows including automated, scheduled, and instant flowtypes
  • Experience with Power Automate Desktop (RPA) for desktop and legacy application automation
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 connectors: SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Planner, Forms, and Dataverse
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs and custom connectors
  • Proficiency with expressions, conditions, loops, error handling, and parallel branching in Power Automate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Apps, and the broader Power Platform ecosystem
  • Understanding of Power Platform environments, solutions, and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for nontechnical stakeholders
  • Strong documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications: PL-900 (Power Platform Fundamentals), PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant), or PL-500 (Power Automate RPA Developer)
  • Experience with Azure Logic Apps and understanding of when to use Logic Apps vs. Power Automate
  • Familiarity with Azure services: Azure Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, and API Management
  • Exposure to Jira or Salesforce integrations via Power Automate
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell or Python for automation support tasks
