We are seeking a Lead Microsoft Fabric Software Engineer / Architect
Candidates must be able to work US EST time zone (5:30pm to 2:30am IST)
Skills:
- Deep expertise with Microsoft Fabricworkloads (OneLake, Data Engineering, Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Real-Time Analytics, Data Activator, Power BI).
- Strong command of SQL, including performance tuning, modeling, and advanced query development.
- Experience designing data warehouses, ODS layers, dimensional models, and lakehouse architectures.
- PySpark and/or notebooks experienced will be a plus
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, Purview, and enterprise metadata management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps methodologies.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Knowledge of MS fabric licenses and user access management
Platform Architecture & Design
- Architect and implement scalable Microsoft Fabricsolutions across OneLake, Data Engineering, Data Factory, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI.
- Design enterprise data warehouses, data marts, ODS, and lakehouse modelsthat support analytical and operational workloads.
- Create data ingestion, transformation, and integration patterns using Fabric pipelines, notebooks, Spark, and KQL-based engines.
- Develop governanceready data models, security frameworks, and data-sharing strategies across Fabric workspaces and domains.
Engineering & Development
- Build and optimize SQL-basedobjects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and performancetuned queries.
- Develop end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelinesusing Data Factory and Fabricnative orchestration tools.
- Implement best practices for schema design, data quality, metadata management, and lineage tracking.
- Integrate Fabric workloads with external systems including ERP, CRM, operational databases, SaaS sources, and APIs.
Operational Excellence
- Establish platform standards, naming conventions, DevOps processes, and CI/CD for Fabric workloads.
- Monitor and optimize capacity utilization and performance across Fabric (warehouse throughput, Spark clusters, pipelines, etc.).
- Ensure platform reliability, data accuracy, security, and compliance with enterprise policies.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with BI developers, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor team members on Fabric concepts, data architecture patterns, SQL best practices, and cloud analytics.
- Provide architectural guidance to support scalable growth and future expansion of the organization's data platform.
