Job Title: D365 F&O Techno-Functional Lead

Experience: 9+ years in ERP, with strong hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience

Role Type: Individual Contributor + Technical Leadership

Primary Focus: The ideal candidate combines deep X++ development skills with practical ERP functional knowledge and the ability to independently manage enhancements, technical troubleshooting, integrations, and production support across the full ERP system. The candidate must be comfortable writing and debugging code, analyzing business transactions, resolving critical incidents, and taking ownership from requirement clarification through production deployment.

Three requirements should be treated as non-negotiable during screening:

1.    Hands-on X++ development: The candidate must be able to independently develop and debug complex D365 F&O customizations, not just review code or manage developers.

2.    Full ERP techno-functional understanding: The candidate must understand how functional transactions flow across modules and how custom code affects inventory, posting, integrations, and reporting.

3.    Production support ownership: The candidate must be capable of managing L2/L3 incidents, root-cause analysis, urgent fixes, SLAs, and release governance alongside planned enhancements.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Advanced X++ programming and object-oriented development.
• D365 F&O application architecture and extension framework.
• Chain of Command (CoC), event handlers, and supported customization patterns.
• Forms, tables, classes, queries, data sources, menu items, and UI customization.
• X++ debugging and troubleshooting.
• Data entities, DMF, staging, and data migration.
• Batch framework and high-volume processing.
• REST APIs, OData, custom services, and ERP integrations.
• Performance optimization and SQL/database troubleshooting knowledge.
• Azure DevOps, source control, build pipelines, and release management.
• Production support, incident management, and root-cause analysis.

Mandatory Functional Skills

• Strong end-to-end functional understanding of D365 F&O ERP.
• Sales, procurement, inventory, and warehouse business processes.
• General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial posting concepts.
• Supply chain planning and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Understanding of master data, transactional data, posting configurations, and financial dimensions.
• Ability to trace functional issues through the relevant ERP transaction lifecycle.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and assess the impact of customizations across modules.
