Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Microbiology Officer role based at the BDL facility in Baddi. The Microbiology Officer will perform routine microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental samples in compliance with regulatory and company standards. Responsibilities include executing sterility and bioburden tests, microbial limit tests, endotoxin testing, and water testing, as well as maintaining and calibrating microbiology instruments and equipment. The role involves preparing culture media, managing microbial cultures, documenting results accurately, and maintaining laboratory records and logbooks. The Microbiology Officer will support investigations of out-of-specification results, participate in root cause analysis, and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions. The position also includes contributing to audits, ensuring adherence to cGMP, GLP, and safety requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in Quality Control and Production.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in microbiology, including knowledge of sterile techniques, microbial identification, and pharmaceutical microbiology principles.
  • Experience with microbiological testing methods such as sterility testing, bioburden assessment, microbial limit testing, endotoxin testing, and environmental monitoring.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, GLP, and relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., WHO, FDA, ICH) applicable to pharmaceutical and oncology product manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in laboratory documentation, data recording, and basic data analysis, with attention to accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting of microbiology lab equipment (incubators, laminar airflow units, autoclaves, colony counters, etc.).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related life science field.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines and following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or oncology-focused QC microbiology laboratory is preferred.
