Overview

Drive the operation(s) of plant & ensure utilisation of capacities thereby keep the cost under control. The incumbent will drive the efficiencies and make the business viable thereby achieving the overall financial targets. The role will achieve all of this by focusing on safety, compliance and product quality.


Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of processes, equipment and system capability to set challenging individual and facility standards.
  • Develops Annual Operating Plan for Manufacturing Dept
  • Achieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization, efficiencies and quality metrics
  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals. Demonstrate knowledge of Problem-solving tools like Fish bone, pareto, DMAIC approach etc.
  • Maintain product quality and sanitation standards per Food Safety requirements
  • Tracks key performance indicators/costs, anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets
  • Oversees and assures facility equipment reliability to minimize downtime, works on MTBF increase, MTTR reduction on Key equipment's.
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly personnel
  • Co-pilot LTS & Engage Frontline workforce, Partner with HRBP and lead engagement
  • Ensures compliance with all Health & Safety regulations
  • Production planning and control at all times, demonstrate hands on ERP/SAP systems knowledge
  • Maintenance, spares and project implementation, partner with M&R Manager.
  • Providing a healthy environment that encourages empowerment and diversity
  • Implement TPM by leading AM Pillar and ensuring circle targets achievements
  • Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment

  • Production Planning:
    • Review the tentative product wise volume projections for the plant
    • Review the KPI's and related cost budget (fixed and variable) prepared by respective Lines at the plant.
    • Review Demand compliance and availability of Empties daily basis and adherence to production plan from ISCP
    • Review with Purchase, LDT & Quality counterparts the availability of quality complied raw material and packaging material at plant as per production requirements
    • Review the connectivity schedule for RMPM
    • Review the SAP updation of actual production and dispatch on periodic basis to oversee actual production as per the production plan and defined quality protocols
  • Production Execution:
    • Conduct daily inter department review meetings to discuss production plan changes and alternatives to manage changes
    • Priorities daily big-ticket activities for the team
    • Review along with HR manager daily resource requirements, last day's absenteeism, wastage levels, NE/TE and other production related parameters
    • Conduct reviews to check wastage levels, adherence to safety norms and GMP at the shop floor
    • Participate in quality meetings at plant Resolve any escalated production and dispatch related issues in order to ensure smooth and continuous production run at the plant
    • Drive M&W ways of working & TPM on shop floor
    • Review key performance indicators and quality indices like plant productivity, capacity utilization, fuel and power consumption, material efficiency on periodic basis
    • Seek guidance from the Plant manager to improvise plant performance
    • Review monthly plant performance reports to prepare performance priority areas and short-term / long-term action plan for improvement
    • Share the performance related priority areas with the team
    • Define monthly plant performance target based on annual target
  • Process Improvement Initiatives:
    • Identify and prioritize gaps at the factory on periodic basis to run the lines as per AOP
    • Involve in identification of process improvement initiatives to overcome gaps and pain-points
    • Monitor the implementation of process improvement on the shop floor in order to ensure overall quality improvement of processes and systems at the plant
    • Own & drive applicable EHS role & responsibilities, create awareness within team for timely support and execution, GEHSMS standards and its compliances
  • Quality mind-set:
    • Plan for implementation of quality systems (like HACCP, FSMS, ISO- 9000) at the plant
    • Monitor implementation of quality systems as per defined plan in order to improve quality of product/ processes at the plant.
  • Review along with QC manager the addressal of market complaints by the team to avoid reoccurrence of the complaints

Qualifications

  • Preferably BE degree with 8-10 years of experience
  • Skills and Behavioural Attributes
    • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
    • Negotiation skills & influencing ability
    • Strong customer orientation
    • Strong analytical skills, ability to read and infer from data points and have action bias
  • Strong focus on delivery and results with high drive and energy levels
