Description
The Method Engineer plans, optimizes, and defines the construction procedures for complex steel structures. This role bridges the gap between engineering design and site execution, ensuring that steel fabrication and erection are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Method Statements: Write detailed, step-by-step technical procedures for steel fabrication, assembly, and erection.
- Sequence Planning: Determine the optimal order of construction to maximize site productivity and minimize downtime.
- Heavy Lifting & Rigging: Design lifting plans, select cranes, and calculate rigging configurations for heavy steel components.
- Temporary Works: Design temporary bracing, shoring towers, and stability frames needed during the intermediate construction phases.
- Constructability Reviews: Review 3D models to identify and resolve installation conflicts before material arrives on-site.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all proposed methods comply with local engineering codes, structural integrity requirements, and HSE standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Proven track record in structural steel construction, heavy lifting, or modular fabrication.
- Core Skills: Strong understanding of steel connection details, crane capacity charts, and rigging geometry.
