METAL WELDER

Qualifications: • Technical Certificate or Vocational Training in Welding, Fabrication, or a related field. • Welding certification is preferred. 

Experience: • 2–5 years of experience in metal welding within an industrial or manufacturing environment. • Skills:

 Technical Skills: • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding processes. • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols. • Knowledge of welding materials, tools, and equipment. • Ability to perform weld inspection and basic troubleshooting. Behavioral Competencies: • Strong attention to detail and quality focus. • Good problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Commitment to safety and workplace discipline. Systems / Digital Skills: • Ability to use electronic work instructions and production records. • Ability to use digital measuring and inspection tools.

Key accountabilities: • Perform welding operations using appropriate welding techniques and equipment. • Read and interpret welding drawings, symbols, and work instructions. • Prepare metal surfaces and components before welding. • Select correct welding parameters, materials, and consumables. • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications. • Perform grinding, cutting, and finishing work as required. • Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper housekeeping of the work area. • Follow safety procedures and quality standards during welding activities. • Record work details and complete required documentation.
