Key Responsibilities:
1. Metal Procurement & Sourcing
- Monitor international metal markets (Gold, Silver, Platinum, etc.) daily and provide insights on price trends and volatility.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers (domestic and international) for metal procurement.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to secure favorable buying positions while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure timely purchase of metals aligned with production requirements and approved purchase policies.
- Coordinate with production planning and stores for metal requirement forecasting.
2. Foreign Currency Management
- Monitor and analyze foreign exchange market trends, especially USD-INR and other relevant currencies.
- Manage booking, utilization, and rollovers of forward contracts to mitigate currency risk.
- Liaise with banks for forex transactions, documentation, and rate negotiation.
- Maintain and reconcile forex exposure reports, ensuring compliance with FEMA and internal audit requirements.
3. Hedging & Risk Management
- Recommend and execute hedging strategies for metal and forex exposure based on company policy.
- Maintain daily mark-to-market reports on hedged and open positions.
- Work closely with finance and treasury to align hedging decisions with cash flow forecasts.
- Analyze the impact of metal and currency price movements on product costing and profitability.
4. Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare periodic reports on metal purchase, pricing trends, forex utilization, and hedging effectiveness.
- Track realized and unrealized gains/losses on forex and metal positions.
- Support management with dashboards and insights for strategic decision-making.
5. Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure all metal purchase and forex transactions are in compliance with internal control frameworks and statutory regulations (RBI/FEMA/SEZ/Customs, etc.).
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities during reviews.
- Support digital initiatives in automating metal buying and forex reporting processes.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of international metal markets and foreign exchange mechanisms.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Navision / MSD) and MS Excel.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data and recommend actions.
- Negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Attention to detail, integrity, and compliance orientation.
Qualification & Experience:
- Education: MBA (Finance) / CA / CMA / M.Com with exposure to Treasury or Commodity Management.
- Experience: 5–10 years in metal procurement and forex management, preferably in manufacturing, jewelry, or export-oriented industries.
- Certifications (Preferred): NCFM / ACI Treasury / IIBF Treasury certification.
