Lead or support product development and supply chain resiliency initiatives by identifying commercially feasible and cost-effective material solutions for R&D programs
Design and execute process development strategies with suppliers, covering casting, wrought processing, powder metallurgy, coating, joining, and related manufacturing technologies
Conduct experimental design, failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and continuous improvement using strong metallurgical expertise
Operate analytical and mechanical test equipment such as SEM, TEM, XRD, UTM, fatigue testing systems and correlate microstructure with mechanical properties
Collaborate with product design and advanced manufacturing teams to ensure material specifications align with system-level performance requirements
Make disposition decisions regarding PPAP submissions, non-conforming materials, and off-standard batches
Prepare detailed technical reports and collaborate with global internal business units; perform plant visits and supplier audits to troubleshoot material issues
Work with national labs, universities, and consortiums to jointly develop and evaluate new materials and manufacturing processes
Develop, document, and enforce standard procedures, specifications, and guidelines aligned with business and product needs
