Core Mission
This person will completely own the merchant ecosystem and sales expansion of the platform. Drive rapid merchant acquisition, build the field sales team, and ensure merchants actively generate transactions on the platform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Merchant Acquisition & Onboarding
- Identify and onboard merchants across categories (retail, restaurants, services, supermarkets, etc.)
- Build merchant pipeline in multiple cities
- Negotiate commercial terms with merchants
- Ensure merchants understand the Kutoot platform and benefits
- Manage onboarding documentation and activation
2. Field Sales Team Management
- Recruit Field Sales Executives
- Train them on merchant pitching and closing
- Allocate territories and merchant clusters
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
- Monitor field performance and productivity
3. Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive merchant transaction volume
- Ensure merchants actively promote Kutoot offers
- Achieve platform growth targets
- Identify high-performing merchant categories
- Push aggressive sales campaigns when required
4. Merchant Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key merchants
- Resolve merchant complaints and operational issues
- Ensure merchants remain active on the platform
- Improve merchant retention
5. Training & Performance Monitoring
Train field teams in:
- sales techniques
- merchant onboarding process
- product knowledge
- Track performance metrics such as:
- merchant onboarding numbers
- transaction volume
- merchant engagement
- Replace underperforming staff if required
6. Local Marketing & Merchant Promotion
- Work as a local marketing driver
- Launch merchant-specific promotional campaigns
- Coordinate with marketing team for visibility
- Encourage merchants to promote Kutoot to customers
7. Territory Expansion
- Expand merchant network city by city
- Identify new high-potential locations
- Build clusters of merchants in each locality
8. Reporting & Growth Analytics
- Track and report:
- merchant onboarding numbers
- transaction growth
- merchant activity levels
- Maintain dashboard of field operations
- Present growth strategy to leadership
9. Ground-Level Problem Solving
- Identify operational bottlenecks
- Solve merchant adoption issues
- Ensure the field team closes deals fast and efficiently

Profile Required
- 3-6 years experience in sales / merchant partnerships
- Experience building field sales teams
- Strong negotiation and closing ability
- Experience in marketplace / fintech / hyperlocal platforms
