Navigator is a sourcing and product development office working with international brands and retailers across apparel and home textiles. We manage the complete lifecycle of orders from vendor sourcing and product development to production, quality management, and shipments.
We are looking for an experienced Merchant Manager / Key Account Manager who will take ownership of key customer accounts and ensure seamless execution from development through shipment.
Role Overview
This role combines account management, merchandising leadership, and delivery management. The candidate will ensure customers are serviced well, orders are executed efficiently, and deliveries happen on time while maintaining strong relationships with buyers, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
- Build strong relationships with buyers and ensure high service levels
- Translate customer requirements into clear execution plans for internal teams and vendors
Order Execution & Delivery
- Oversee the complete order lifecycle from development to shipment
- Ensure on-time delivery, quality compliance, and first-time-right execution
- Track production progress and proactively resolve issues
Technical Coordination
- Work closely with fit, technical, and QA teams to ensure correct fit approvals and product quality
- Coordinate size set reviews, pre-production meetings, and quality checkpoints
- Ensure testing, compliance, and buyer quality standards are met
Team Management
- Lead and mentor the merchandising team handling the account
- Ensure clear communication, accountability, and coordination across teams
- Motivate the team to deliver strong execution and service levels
Vendor Management
- Work closely with factories to ensure production timelines and quality standards
- Develop strong vendor relationships and identify suitable partners for different product categories
Product & Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of knit and woven garment production
- Knowledge of fabric development, garment construction, and costing
- Familiarity with compliance requirements, testing standards, and quality protocols for international buyers
Business Promotion
- Identify opportunities to grow business with existing customers
- Support management in business development and new account initiatives
Requirements
- 712 years experience in apparel merchandising / sourcing
- Experience handling international buyers or export programs
- Strong product knowledge across knits and wovens
- Understanding of compliance standards and testing requirements
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex production timelines
Reporting
This role will report to management and work closely with leadership to ensure strong customer service, delivery performance, and business growth.
