Merchandising Manager – Leather Jackets

Location: Bangalore

Company: Bhartiya International Ltd

Reporting To: GM – Marketing

Role Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end merchandising operations for leather jacket categories including product development, costing, sourcing coordination, buyer management, production follow-up, and timely order execution while ensuring quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complete merchandising cycle from product development to shipment for leather jacket programs.
  • Coordinate with buyers, design, sourcing, production, and QA teams for smooth execution of orders.
  • Handle sample development, approvals, fit comments, and pre-production activities.
  • Prepare product costing and support margin optimization initiatives.
  • Follow up with vendors and suppliers for leather, trims, and accessories procurement.
  • Monitor production timelines and ensure on-time delivery as per customer commitments.
  • Maintain regular communication with buyers regarding order status, development updates, and shipment schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Identify risks in production or delivery schedules and take corrective actions proactively.

Key Deliverables

  • Timely sample submissions and approvals.
  • 95%+ on-time order delivery performance.
  • Cost competitiveness and margin achievement.
  • Smooth coordination between buyers, vendors, and production teams.
  • Customer satisfaction and repeat business growth.
  • Compliance with quality and delivery standards.

Experience: Minimum 7+ years in leather garment/jacket merchandising, in export-oriented business is must.

Education: NIFT / Fashion Technology / Leather Design / Any relevant graduation.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of leather garment merchandising and manufacturing.
  • Expertise in costing, sourcing, and production coordination.
  • Good communication and buyer handling skills.
  • Strong planning, follow-up, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
