Job Description

Job Title: Merchandiser

Department: New Product Development

Location: Hybrid (Delhi/NCR)

Job Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Merchandiser to join our New Product Development (NPD) team. This role involves end to end product development including managing vendor relationships, coordinating product samples, maintaining product specification data, and ensuring smooth delivery and documentation processes for new products.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong communication and negotiation skills, and can efficiently multitask across functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Management & Coordination

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for product development.
  • Maintain an updated vendor database with complete contact, location, and product information.
  • Coordinate with vendors for product specifications, high quality images, and samples required by Online and Retail sales teams.

Product Development Support

  • Oversee the creation of product samples and mock-ups for internal evaluation and approvals.
  • Ensure samples and mock-ups are available ahead of work-from-office days for review
  • Ensure timely delivery of the first lot of new products to farms.

Costing & Negotiation

  • Conduct cost negotiations with vendors to achieve optimal pricing without compromising quality.

Documentation & Data Management

  • Regularly update NPD Internal and Project Tracking Sheets with new product details & progress status
  • Maintain & update QC sheets based on feedback and product iterations.
  • Manage the creation and update of raw material ERP codes.
  • Prepare and document Minutes of Meetings (MoM`s) with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Inter-Department Coordination

  • Act as a key liaison between vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate communication of product specs & timelines
  • Share finalized product specs with Online/Retail teams to ensure timely go-to-market alignment.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Textile Design, or a related field (Preferably)
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in merchandising, vendor coordination, or product development roles.
  • Strong communication, negotiation & interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data management.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
