About the role:
Drive end-to-end product merchandising for modern gold jewelry collections, with a focus on lightweight, minimalist, modular, and fusion designs. The role integrates trend insights, product development, and commercial execution to deliver market-relevant and client-centric collections.
Responsibilities
1. Trend & Concept Development
- Track fashion, lifestyle, and jewelry trends to shape seasonal and core collections
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities
- Develop mood boards, concepts, and collection directions aligned with brand and client needs
2. Product Development & Range Building
- Create new product ranges for exhibitions, seasonal launches, and client briefs
- Translate concepts into commercially viable designs in collaboration with design and CAD teams
- Ensure alignment of designs with target price points, aesthetics, and market demand
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with design, CAD, production, and sourcing teams for sampling and approvals
- Manage product development timelines, costing inputs, and quality benchmarks
- Ensure timely execution from concept to final product readiness
4. Client & Market Interface
- Collaborate with clients, buying houses, and retail partners across domestic and export markets
- Understand client briefs and translate them into product development plans
- Ensure seamless communication, follow-ups, and alignment on product expectations
5. Merchandising & Data Management
- Analyze sales data, consumer behavior, and market trends to refine product strategies
- Maintain accurate product data, costing, and development status in ERP systems
- Track performance of collections and recommend improvements for future lines
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Jewelry Design Merchandising from NIFT or alike Institute
- 37 years of experience in jewelry merchandising, preferably in gold, diamond-studded, or contemporary jewelry
Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of gold jewelry production techniques and product development cycles
- Exposure to modern design aesthetics including lightweight, minimalist, modular, and fusion jewelry
- Experience in handling exhibitions, seasonal launches, and client-driven product development
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems for product tracking and analysis
- Ability to interpret sales data and market insights to drive merchandising decisions
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong project management and multi-tasking capability across collections
- High attention to detail with a sharp eye for design and aesthetics
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work across cross-functional teams
Required Skills
- Prior experience working in both domestic/export jewelry markets, with a strong focus on consumer trends.
- Exposure to or interest in technology-led product design and innovation in gold jewelry.
