merchandiser plans, manages, and executes product placement, inventory, and displays in physical retail stores or e-commerce platforms to maximize sales. They bridge the gap between suppliers and consumers by ensuring the right products are in the right place, at the right time, and in optimal quantities.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management: Track and maintain ideal stock levels, ensuring products are restocked promptly from warehouses or backrooms.Product Display & Layout: Implement planograms, build promotional displays, and maintain visually appealing shelves that attract shoppers and drive revenue.Data Analysis: Analyze sales trends, monitor competitor pricing, and track seasonal demand to adjust purchasing and display strategies.Vendor & Store Relations: Negotiate with suppliers, manage pricing, and build positive relationships with store managers to secure prime shelf space.Stock Rotation: Check product freshness, remove damaged or expired merchandise, and handle product returns.Core RequirementsEducation: Typically requires a High School Diploma, GED, or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, Retail Management, or a related field.Experience: Previous retail, sales, or inventory management experience is highly preferred.Physical & Travel: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and travel between various retail locations within an assigned territory.Skills: Strong communication, data analysis, and negotiation skills, paired with a keen eye for visual presentation.
