Job Description – Merchandiser (Category Planner) Footwear Brand

Location – Bangalore (On-Site)

CTC - 8-10 LPA

Preferably from FDDI or Footwear Background/NIFT

Monrow is a PETA award-winning best footwear and bag brand. Led by ex-Versace

leadership, and with senior team members from Anita Dongre and Myntra, we are based

in Bangalore and have a strong DTC business with a loyal customer base. We're scaling

rapidly and on a mission to transform into a data sciences-driven creative company.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Merchandiser who combines strong analytical skills with deep product knowledge and consumer

insight. This role is pivotal in ensuring the right product mix, inventory planning, and trend alignment across D2C,

e-commerce marketplaces, and retail channels. The ideal candidate will drive decisions that balance creativity,

commercial viability, and consumer demand

Key Responsibilities

1. Merchandising Strategy & Mix

• Plan and execute seasonal merchandising strategies across channels.

• Define category mix, price points, and SKU depth based on consumer patterns and sales data.

• Ensure assortments are trend-right, commercially viable, and aligned with brand identity.

2. Inventory Planning & Buying

• Forecast demand and plan inventory levels to optimize sell-through.

• Collaborate with sourcing and buying teams to ensure timely procurement.

• Monitor stock movement, replenishment cycles, and aging inventory

3. Consumer & Market Insights

• Analyse consumer behaviour, sales trends, and competitor activity.

• Translate insights into actionable merchandising decisions.

• Identify emerging trends and recommend product opportunities.4. Product Knowledge & Decision Making

• Maintain strong understanding of footwear categories, materials, and design trends.

• Partner with design and marketing teams to ensure product storytelling aligns with merchandising intent.

• Make data-driven decisions to maximize revenue and minimize markdowns.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with design, sourcing, e-commerce, and retail teams.

• Align merchandising plans with marketing campaigns, promotions, and launches.

• Support visual merchandising and product presentation across online and o]line channels.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field.

• 3–4 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in footwear or fashion retail.

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and merchandising tools.

• Knowledge of consumer trends, pricing logic, and inventory management.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
