Job Description: Merchandiser & Catalog Manager
Position Overview: We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchandiser & Catalog Manager for our company. In this role, you will be responsible for curating and managing our product catalog, as well as optimizing the merchandising strategy to maximize sales and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of merchandising principles, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for product selection.
Compensation & Work Schedule:
Salary: 18,000 20,000 per month (based on experience and skills)
Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Location: Chennai (Work from Office)
Responsibilities:
Catalog Curation: Curate and manage the product catalog, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection of products that align with our target audience and customer preferences.
Product Sourcing: Identify and source new products and suppliers to expand and enhance our catalog offerings. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favourable terms to ensure competitive pricing and product availability.
Merchandising Strategy: Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to maximize sales, conversion rates, and customer engagement. Collaborate with the marketing team to align catalog promotions with marketing campaigns.
Product Presentation: Ensure that product listings are visually appealing, accurate, and consistent across all channels. Optimize product images, descriptions, and specifications to provide an engaging and informative shopping experience.
Catalog Maintenance: Regularly review and update the catalog to reflect pricing changes, new products, and discontinued items. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as operations and inventory management, to ensure accurate stock levels and availability.
Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for catalog expansion and improvement. Leverage market insights to make data-driven decisions regarding product selection and assortment.
Sales Analysis: Monitor and analyse sales data, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators to identify areas of improvement. Use insights to optimize the catalog layout, product placement, and promotional strategies.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, sales, operations, and customer support, to understand their requirements and incorporate them into the catalog and merchandising strategy.
Supplier Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, resolve any product-related issues, and negotiate favourable terms for our company.
Compliance and Legal Considerations: Ensure all catalog content complies with relevant laws, regulations, and intellectual property rights. Stay updated on any changes in regulations that may affect catalog operations and make necessary adjustments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a merchandiser, catalog manager, or a similar role in an e-commerce or retail environment.
Strong knowledge of merchandising principles, product assortment, and catalog management systems.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse sales data, market trends, and customer behaviour to drive informed decision-making.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for product selection, visual presentation, and copywriting.
Familiarity with the rewards and gifting industry is preferred.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Requirements:

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, or procurement, preferably within the rewards, corporate gifting, or merchandise industry.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Hindi is mandatory, along with strong English & Tamil language skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems for inventory management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Team Player: Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.
