About the Role: We are actively looking for a Merchandising Senior Analyst to provide buying/work unit with efficient support for the item set up and PO creation work. The successful candidate must be a self-starter who can organize work priorities with supervision and responsibilities would also include taking independent decisions for low complexity problems. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines, and creative problem solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence
- End-to-End Ownership of Divisional Setups: Drive the operational strategy by leading the division setup process with an emphasis on precision, compliance, and timely execution to support seamless business operations.
- Continuous Process Optimization: Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the operational framework, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strengthen strategic partnerships with business units and suppliers to align divisional operations with broader organizational goals, ensuring optimal support for divisional analysts.
- Inventory Data Integrity & Governance: Oversee the divisional item creation process for owned inventory across domestic, imported, and factory-ship assortments. Ensure compliance with data accuracy standards to facilitate seamless integration and execution of inventory workflows.
- Data Governance & Reporting
- Performance Insights & Progress Tracking: Develop and manage comprehensive reporting structures to provide real-time visibility into the team's progress, ensuring timely completion of item setup processes.
- Product Data Integrity & Supplier Management
- Item Setup & Data Accuracy: Oversee the creation and validation of divisional items across domestic, import, and factory-ship assortments, ensuring seamless data integration and operational accuracy.
- Supplier Communication & Compliance: Manage end-to-end supplier collaboration for data acquisition, image collection, and periodic inventory updates, maintaining system integrity and alignment with JCPenney's infrastructure.
- Omnichannel Product Optimization: Ensure accurate execution of orderable and sellable attributes in the system to support a frictionless customer experience across digital and physical retail platforms.
- Digital Operations & E-Commerce Enablement
- Post-Setup Digital Execution: Partner with Digital Operations teams to drive post-item setup workflows, including image enhancements, inventory synchronization, and digital content deployment to maximize product visibility online.
- Critical Thinking & Adaptability
- Dynamic Volume & Workload Management: Adapt operational strategies to manage peak workload fluctuations, ensuring consistent performance and target achievement under high-pressure scenarios.
- Agile Prioritization & Task Execution: Maintain a structured approach to workload management, prioritizing critical deliverables while ensuring zero-error execution within defined SLAs.

- New Hire Training & Onboarding: Design and implement structured training programs to equip new hires with the necessary knowledge, tools, and best practices for seamless integration into the team.

- Daily Work Allocation & Distribution: Strategically assign and manage workload distribution to optimize resource utilization and meet operational deadlines.
- Progress Monitoring & SLA Compliance: Conduct periodic status checks on deliverables to track completion rates, proactively addressing potential bottlenecks.
- Quality Assurance & Accuracy Audits

Qualifications:
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in Merchandising and Item Data Management
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Masters will be added advantage)
Required Skills:
- Critical thinking, Problem Solving, Mentoring & Decision-making
- Proficiency in Oracle RMS, data master, PIM or other related operating system
- Proficiency in intermediate excel
- Good Communication Skills both verbal & written
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Retail and Merchandising – Item Set Up, Category management and catalogue management
- Communicates with various levels of management including merchandising managers, buyers, assistant buyers and merchandising assistants
