Job Description

About the Role: A Jewellery Merchandiser is a strategic role that blends creativity with commercial business sense. Their primary goal is to ensure the right jewellery collections are available in the right quantities and displayed in a way that maximizes sales and enhances the brand's aesthetic. Key Responsibilities:

● Strategic Planning: Formulate and implement merchandising strategies that synchronize customer expectations with organizational sales objectives.

● Market and Trend Analysis: Execute comprehensive market research to ascertain nascent trends within both domestic and international jewelry markets, thereby guiding strategic product curation and pricing decisions.

● Visual Merchandising: Develop and execute compelling product presentations, meticulously considering elements such as illumination and thematic elements to accentuate the artisanal quality of each item.

● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a pivotal liaison, fostering seamless coordination among the design, production, and sales departments to strategize and execute the development of collections aligned with market demand, and to effectively manage new product introductions.

● Vendor Relations Management: Cultivate robust relationships with suppliers, strategically negotiating pricing and contractual terms to ensure commercially advantageous and cost-effective procurement.

● Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes, gold variations, and diamond grading standards.

● Commercial Acumen: Exceptional negotiation and communication proficiencies essential for effective engagement with suppliers and retail clientele.

● Creativity: A highly developed aesthetic sensibility for curating visually impactful displays that effectively convey the brand's narrative.

● Pricing Management: Implement and monitor pricing strategies and promotional schedules to ensure the maintenance of robust profit margins.

● Product Knowledge and Launch Training:Lead comprehensive training sessions for retail teams ahead of every new collection launch.

● Quality Control & Material Analysis: Conduct physical inspections and material testing (metal purity, gemstone grading, stone-setting security) to ensure all pieces meet brand standards before retail release.

Qualification:

● Education: A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Retail Management, or Fashion Merchandising is required. Preference may be given to candidates from esteemed institutions such as NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology).

● Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in retail merchandising, specifically within the jewellery or fashion industry, is typically necessary.

● Certifications: Possession of supplementary certifications in gemology (e.g., from the GIA) or jewellery design is considered a substantial asset.
