Purpose:
Manage and oversee the planning, design review, execution, commissioning, and maintenance of all MEP systems across campuses and projects. The role ensures quality, safety, statutory compliance, operational efficiency, and standardization of electrical, HVAC, fire protection, and other electro-mechanical infrastructure. It also focuses on contractor coordination, preventive maintenance, energy optimization, and smooth handover of facilities to support uninterrupted campus operations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Primary role of the position is to:
- Evaluate the design of various MEP systems at each campus
- Identify, evaluate & pre-qualify MEP consultants & contractors for design & build & servicing
- Study the tender clauses/BOQ specs/drawing detailing provided by architect/ consultant, issue clarifications and highlight the errors.
- Visit the sites during the project execution stages of new facility construction and supervise, undertake measurements of electro-mechanical scope.
- Correlate with drawings and prepare snag lists, quality issues
- Prepare a detail schedule, sequences of the MEP scope of each project
- Supervise testing, commissioning & handover documentation of all MEP systems
- Arrange for MEP as-built drawings of project facilities and maintain records
- Other responsibilities of the position:
- Plan visit to campuses to list out & review overall electrical safety standards for preventive measures, audits, etc.
- Map the MEP infrastructure across campus for standardization
- Review electrical designs & equipment capacities & functioning for upgrade and to prevent any electrical hazard / accident.
- Prepare/review MEP scope elect, HVAC, fire scope BOQs of upgrading works at campuses and co-ordinate drawings
- Prepare/ review electrical system scheme SLD, makes of materials, equipment, etc.
- Review and implement measures for energy saving, etc.
- To establish and manage the AMCs for transformer, dg, panel, lifts, pump motors, PA, CCTV, and HVAC etc.
- Identify and appoint liaison agencies for statutory approvals
- Ensure the compliance to statutory electrical inspections
Qualification:
- Minimum: B. Tech/ B.E. Electrical; Preferred Course in Electrical Audits, Safety, Quality
- Knowledge of latest innovations and products in Electrical technology
Experience:
- 10 years experience in the field
- Experienced in cost budgeting & contracts
- Coordinating with design consultants for scope, specs, GFC drawings, etc.
- Preparing & Monitoring – Project plan of MEP scope
- Independently handled MEP scope of each Project - Start To End
- Statutory & Safety compliance of MEP design systems
- MEP BOQ preparation, review Technical Specs & Drawing interpretation, Estimate quantities, Rate analysis, Site quality supervision & Works Measurements, Work schedule, Tenders & Contracts, etc.
- Prior Industry Experience:
MEP Consultants / PMC/ Real Estate
Facility Management of educational institutions/commercial complex/hotels/ sports clubs/
healthcare etc.
