Job Purpose
The Senior Project Manager MEP is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works across assigned projects. The role ensures compliance with contractual requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, schedules, and budgets while coordinating with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Management
- Lead and manage all MEP activities from design coordination through commissioning and handover.
- Develop detailed project execution plans, MEP schedules, manpower plans, and procurement strategies.
- Review MEP designs, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.
- Establish project milestones and ensure timely achievement in coordination with civil, architectural, and other disciplines.
Technical & Design Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, designers, and stakeholders to resolve design conflicts, RFIs, and technical issues.
- Ensure integration and coordination between Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV, BMS, and specialist systems.
- Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and performance without compromising compliance.
Contract & Commercial Management
- Manage MEP contracts, subcontractor appointments, and supplier agreements.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
- Control project costs, monitor budgets, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Participate in negotiations with vendors and subcontractors.
Execution & Site Management
- Oversee site execution of all MEP works ensuring adherence to approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and progress of MEP contractors and site teams.
- Identify project risks related to MEP works and implement mitigation measures proactively.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
- Ensure all MEP works comply with applicable codes, standards, statutory regulations, and client requirements.
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and safe work practices on site.
- Lead inspections, testing, and commissioning activities in coordination with consultants and authorities.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Plan and manage testing, commissioning, and balancing of all MEP systems.
- Ensure timely approvals from authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Oversee preparation and submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, and handover documentation.
- Support defect liability period (DLP) activities and close-out.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage project managers, engineers, supervisors, and support staff.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related matters with clients, consultants, and internal management.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and prepare detailed progress and risk reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master's degree or PMP certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1215 years of experience in MEP project management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multidisciplinary MEP projects from initiation to handover.
