Designation - MEP Designer

About the Role

As an MEP Designer, you will be responsible for preparing detailed, accurate, and construction-ready

electrical and plumbing drawings for residential and commercial projects. You will work closely with

architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, project teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure

drawings are technically sound, clash-free, and aligned with overall design and site execution requirements.

Key Responsibilities

● Prepare detailed electrical and plumbing drawings using AutoCAD.

● Develop electrical layouts including:

◦ Lighting and power layouts

◦ Switch and socket layouts

◦ DB and circuit layouts

◦ Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

◦ Electrical load schedules

◦ Earthing and other relevant details

● Develop plumbing drawings including:

◦ Water supply layouts

◦ Sanitary and drainage layouts

◦ Pipe routing and sizing

◦ Rainwater drainage layouts

◦ Plumbing shaft and toilet details

◦ Water tank and pump connections

● Prepare drawings based on architectural, structural, and MEP design requirements.

● Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural and structural drawings to identify and resolve

clashes. ● Incorporate design changes and revisions into drawings accurately and within

timelines. ● Prepare detailed drawings suitable for site execution and construction.

● Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, levels, specifications, and compliance with design

requirements. ● Coordinate with architects, engineers, project teams, contractors, and vendors to

resolve drawing-related issues.

Required Skills

● Proven working experience as an MEP Designer, preferably with exposure to Electrical and

Plumbing (MEP) drawings.

● Strong command of AutoCAD 2D drafting; working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP / Revit MEP is an

added advantage.

● Good understanding of electrical layouts, SLDs, load schedules, and earthing details.

● Good understanding of plumbing systems - water supply, sanitary, drainage, and rainwater

layouts. ● Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

● Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve clashes between MEP,

architectural, and structural drawings.

● Good communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams, contractors, and

vendors. ● Ability to manage multiple drawings and revisions within defined project timelines.

Qualification

● Diploma / ITI in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent draftsman certification).

● 2+ years of relevant experience in preparing electrical and plumbing drawings for

construction/real estate projects.
