Role Description The MEP Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates and BOQs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work associated with laboratory projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications and budgets. Day-to-day activities include reviewing drawings and technical documents, coordinating with design, project, and procurement teams, and conducting quantity take-offs and cost analysis for ongoing and upcoming projects. The role involves supporting bid preparation, participating in vendor and contractor discussions, and updating cost databases and estimation tools based on market research and project learnings. The engineer will also contribute to value engineering, risk assessment, and optimization of MEP solutions within lab infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Vadodara, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in BOQ preparation and Project Estimation for MEP and related civil works.
  • Educational background in Mechanical/Electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Ability to conduct thorough Research on materials, labor rates, and market trends to support accurate costing.
  • Effective Negotiation skills for coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders on pricing and scope.
  • Proficiency in estimation and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, and relevant MEP estimation software).
  • Experience in laboratory infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
