Role Description This is a full-time, on-site MEP Design Manager role based in Kochi. The MEP Design Manager will lead the planning, design, coordination, and review of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for building projects across multiple sectors. Responsibilities include managing design teams, preparing and reviewing detailed MEP layouts and calculations, ensuring code compliance and alignment with project specifications, and coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders. The role involves overseeing design documentation, conducting design reviews and value engineering, resolving technical issues during design and construction, and supporting project managers with schedules, deliverables, and client presentations. The MEP Design Manager will also help implement design standards, integrate BIM and other digital tools into workflows, and mentor junior engineers to maintain high-quality, efficient design practices.
Qualifications
- Strong MEP design expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building services, with proven experience managing multi-disciplinary MEP projects.
- Proficiency in design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and relevant MEP calculation software for load estimation, duct sizing, cable sizing, and hydraulic calculations.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and regulations for MEP systems, including energy efficiency, safety, and sustainability requirements.
- Experience coordinating MEP designs with architectural and structural teams, resolving clashes, and integrating design inputs from multiple disciplines.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, quality control, and timely delivery of design packages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team mentoring, performance guidance, and fostering a collaborative, high-quality design culture.
