MEP Design Engineer (5+ Years Experience)

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented MEP Design Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive experience in MEP design and Building Information Modeling (BIM),focusing on projects in the United States, specifically in the HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection disciplines.

This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and proficiency in industry-leading design software.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Design & Calculation:

Perform technical calculations for all phases of design, including conceptual, schematic design, and design development.

Conduct heating and cooling load calculations using software like HAP.

Calculate total water demand (Domestic Water/Waste-Vent) and pipe sizing according to codes like IPC/NSPC/UPC.

Perform gas pipe sizing and layout design as per IFGC & NFPA-54 standards.

Develop fire sprinkler layouts using both pipe schedule and hydraulic calculations as per NFPA 13, 13D, 13R.

Determine pump head calculations for various applications (e.g., multi-stage centrifugal pumps for high-rise buildings).

BIM and Documentation:

Lead the development of 3D models and construction documents in Revit and maintain quality control on deliverables.

Prepare and maintain project schedules and equipment schedules.

Coordination & Leadership:

Mentor and lead a team of junior engineers/modelers.

Collaborate with project managers, US design consultants, architects, and structural teams.

Manage coordination meetings with clients, communicate risks, and provide effective solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in MEP design engineering, with a focus on US-based projects

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Software Proficiency: Expert proficiency in the following:

Autodesk Revit MEP

AutoCAD (2D & 3D)

Navisworks1

Load calculation software (e.g., HAP)

Technical Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of international building codes and industry standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA 13/14/20/54,
