Role Description This is a full-time, on-site MEP BIM Modeller role based in Chennai. The MEP BIM Modeller will develop, update, and maintain coordinated BIM models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across various building projects. Responsibilities include interpreting design and construction drawings, creating detailed 3D models, and ensuring clash detection and resolution in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The role involves producing accurate shop drawings and documentation, supporting design changes, and adhering to project standards and BIM execution plans. The MEP BIM Modeller will work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure models are accurate, constructible, and aligned with client requirements and timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows, with hands-on experience creating and managing coordinated 3D models.
- Solid understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and their integration within building projects.
- Ability to interpret and translate Architecture and Construction Drawings into accurate and detailed BIM models.
- Proven experience working as a BIM Modeller or similar modeler role in the AECO or construction industry.
- Familiarity with industry-standard BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, or similar) and basic knowledge of clash detection and coordination processes.
- Attention to detail, strong spatial visualization skills, and the ability to follow project standards and BIM execution plans.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural, or related engineering/technical discipline preferred.
- Experience with international project standards or Middle East/India project environments is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn new digital tools and methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement in modeling practices.
