Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Memory Firmware Engineer (ABL FW) to work on next-generation platform firmware focusing on memory initialization and management. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in DDR technologies, DIMM architectures, and memory controller features.
You will be responsible for developing and optimizing firmware components that enable reliable and high-performance memory subsystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ABL (AMD Boot Loader) firmware for memory initialization.
- Work closely with platform, BIOS, and silicon teams to enable DDR memory subsystems.
- Debug and resolve memory initialization and training issues.
- Support validation and bring-up activities for new platforms.
- Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and stability.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of DDR4, DDR5, and NVDIMM
- Knowledge of DIMM types: UDIMM, SODIMM, RDIMM, LRDIMM, LPDDR
- Experience with UMC (Unified Memory Controller) features
- Understanding of ECC, SME, SEV, RAS
- Experience in low-level firmware development (C/C++)
- Debugging and bring-up experience on server or embedded platforms
Preferred Skills
- Experience with boot firmware / BIOS / platform initialization
- Exposure to server platforms or memory subsystem architecture
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
