Role summary:
Help build modern, scalable web experiences that support athenahealth's marketing web properties. This role focuses on front-end software development using React and related web technologies, with responsibility for designing, building, testing, and maintaining high-quality user-facing applications and integrations. This position is based inBangalore - Whitefield, India. This person will work as part of theWeb Platform teamand report to the appropriate engineering leader.

The Web Platform team is responsible for managing athenahealth's marketing web properties and supporting the web experiences that connect customers, prospects, and partners with athenahealth solutions. The team works across a modern web technology stack and partners closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, maintainable, and performant digital experiences.
This team supports front-end architecture, application development, API integrations, web performance, accessibility, analytics implementation, and ongoing platform improvements. Team members collaborate with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and effective web experiences while maintaining coding standards, development best practices, and long-term maintainability.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Participatein all phases of Agile software development, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Developand maintain front-end applications usingReact,JavaScript, and related web technologies.
- Buildprototypes and production-ready solutions for new web capabilities and enhancements.
- Collaboratewith backend engineering teams on API design, integration patterns, and implementation.
- Followcoding conventions, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices to support maintainable and scalable solutions.
- Optimizecode for quality, performance, maintainability, and user experience.
- Writeunit tests and contribute to test coverage to improve application reliability and reduce defects.
- Contributeto Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Documentimplementation details and technical decisions to support knowledge sharing and maintainability.
- UseAI tools, where appropriate, to improve productivity in front-end development tasks such as debugging, code exploration, documentation drafting, and learning new workflows, while reviewing outputs for accuracy, security, and relevance.

Expected Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degreeor equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ yearsof experience in a software engineering or front-end development role.
- Strong proficiencyinJavaScript.
- Strong skillsinHTML,CSS,SCSS, or related CSS frameworks.
- ExperiencewithReactand related libraries such asReact Router.
- KnowledgeofSEO,accessibility, and analytics integration in React applications.
- Experiencewriting unit tests with meaningful code coverage.
- Experiencewith common front-end development tools such asBabel,Webpack, andNPM.
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
- Familiaritywith modern front-end build pipelines and tooling.
- Exposureto AWS services such asLambda,API Gateway,ECS,S3, andCloudFrontis helpful.
