Member of Technical Staff Intern - AI Systems
NovusAI is an AI consultancy building production intelligent systems for enterprise clients. We work across LLM agent pipelines, cloud data platforms, and applied ML products in regulated industries. We are looking for a generalist intern who sits at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and data engineering, and who can contribute meaningfully to end-to-end AI system delivery.
This is not a shadow role. You will write production code and own real tasks.
What you will work on:
- LLM agent pipelines including tool use, memory, structured outputs, and multi-step reasoning
- Python data pipelines and ETL processes on Azure (Data Lake, Synapse, Delta Lake)
- FastAPI backend services and REST APIs consumed by agent and front-end layers
- Azure AI Search configuration and tuning for RAG workflows
- dbt data models for analytics, reporting, and ML feature generation
- ML experiments, model evaluation, and LLM eval harnesses
What we expect you to know:
- ML fundamentals: supervised learning, evaluation, and feature engineering
- Some exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or agent frameworks
- Python at a solid level. You have built something real with it beyond coursework
- SQL beyond basics: joins, aggregations, and window functions
- REST APIs, basic backend concepts, and Git
- Awareness of data pipelines and how data moves through a system
- Algorithms and data structures at interview level
- Ability to reason about system components and trade-offs
- Docker, dbt, or cloud platforms (Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery) is a plus
Who we are looking for:
- 3rd / final year or recent grad in CS, IT, EE, or Data Science (B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / M.S.)
- Comfortable working with data, running experiments, and interpreting results
- Someone who reads documentation, figures things out, and asks sharp questions
- Strong communicator. You can explain what you built and why you made the choices you did
Nice to have:
- Prior internship in AI, data, or backend engineering
- Open-source contributions or a GitHub portfolio with real projects
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, RAGAS, or LangSmith
- Any Azure or cloud platform exposure
Stack: Python, FastAPI, Azure (Data Lake, Synapse, Container Apps, AI Search), dbt, LangChain, Docker, GitHub
Logistics:
- Location: Remote (hybrid open if you are in London or Dubai)
- Duration: 8 to 12 weeks, starting July 2026
- Compensation: Competitive stipend.
- Interview: Intro chat, Python and SQL coding round, system design, AI/ML discussion and take-home assignment
