Job Description

22.25 hours worked over a four week rolling rota including one weekend every four weeks.
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Telephonist/Receptionist to join our dedicated team at Caithness General Hospital.
This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of the hospital, providing a vital link between patients, visitors, healthcare professionals, and emergency services.
Responsibilities
As one of the first points of contact for the hospital, you will play a key role in ensuring effective communication across a busy healthcare environment. Your responsibilities will include:
You will need excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during urgent or unexpected situations.

- Managing all telephone calls and enquiries professionally and efficiently
- Providing a welcoming and helpful reception service
- Monitoring alarm and emergency systems and initiating appropriate responses in line with established procedures
- Coordinating the Out of Hours GP service
- Contacting on-call staff and supporting emergency communications when required
- Maintaining accurate records and providing administrative support to the wider service
