We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder specializing in surgery, emergency department, and evaluation and management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1-6 years of experience in medical coding, with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance in coding surgical procedures and emergency services.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding for surgical procedures and emergency department visits.
- Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services according to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous documentation and ensure compliance with coding standards.
- Stay updated with the latest coding regulations and guidelines to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and resolve any coding-related issues or discrepancies.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-6 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in surgery, emergency department, and evaluation and management.
- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to surgical procedures.
