We are seeking an experienced Surgery Coder with expertise in complex surgical coding and general surgery. The ideal candidate will have 5-12 years of experience in medical coding, particularly in surgical procedures, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate coding and compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate codes for surgical procedures.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations for complex surgeries.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding updates, regulations, and best practices in surgical coding.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and adherence to policies.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy related to surgical procedures.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred.
