We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding, IPDRG Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding inpatient diagnoses and procedures using the IPDRG system, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate codes using the IPDRG system for inpatient cases.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation and coding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Perform quality checks on coded data to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Generate reports and contribute to coding audits as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in medical coding systems, specifically IPDRG and ICD-10-CM/PCS.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in coding.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement processes and regulations.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is preferred but not mandatory.
