We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder with experience in IP-DRG coding and surgical coding to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical records and assigning accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper billing and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate codes for inpatient procedures using the IP-DRG (Inpatient Prospective Payment System) guidelines.
- Code surgical procedures accurately to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and ensure compliance with coding standards.
- Stay updated on coding guidelines and regulations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in audits and quality assurance processes to ensure coding accuracy.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in IP-DRG and surgical coding.
- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, COC) is preferred.
