Job SummaryEdwin Academy is seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Medical Coding Faculty with minimum 5 years of industry experience and CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering high-quality training in medical coding, preparing students for certification exams, and ensuring students gain industry-ready skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Teaching
- Deliver comprehensive training in Medical Coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS).
- Teach Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, and Coding Guidelines relevant to coding practice.
- Conduct both theoretical and practical coding sessions.
Certification Preparation
- Prepare students for AAPC CPC certification examinations.
- Provide exam-oriented coaching, mock tests, and evaluation.
Curriculum Delivery
- Follow the academy's approved syllabus and training modules.
- Update students on latest coding guidelines and industry updates.
Student Evaluation
- Conduct assignments, assessments, and coding practice sessions.
- Monitor student progress and provide individual guidance where necessary.
Industry Guidance
- Provide career guidance, interview preparation, and resume support.
- Assist the placement team by ensuring students are industry-ready.
Required Qualifications- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification AAPC
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Science / Paramedical / Allied Health / Medical Field
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in Medical Coding
- Experience in training or teaching will be an added advantage
Required Skills- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Good understanding of medical terminology and anatomy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to simplify complex medical coding concepts for students
- Strong mentoring and classroom management skills
Certification Requirement- Active CPC Certification (AAPC) is mandatory.
Experience- Minimum 5 Years of Industry Experience in Medical Coding
