We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation for accurate coding.
- Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes and updates.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance payers in a timely manner.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and billing processes.
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred.
