• Review patient medical records and documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign accurate medical codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures using standardized coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance guidelines.
• Verify and cross-check medical documentation to ensure correct coding and billing.
• Work closely with physicians, healthcare providers, and billing teams to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow data privacy regulations while handling medical records.
• Identify and correct coding errors before submitting claims for billing.
• Stay updated with changes in medical coding guidelines and healthcare regulations.
• Assist in processing insurance claims and reimbursement documentation.
• Maintain detailed records of coded data and patient information.
