Job Description: Medical Coding Trainer (This is a teaching position)

Duration : 10 working days
Program Start Date : 15th December
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Medical Coding Trainer to deliver quality training based on industry standards, ensuring learners gain the skills required to excel as professional Medical Coders. The trainer will be responsible for delivering sessions aligned with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation.
The ideal candidate should have strong coding expertise, excellent communication skills, and hands-on training experience.
Key Responsibilities Training Delivery
- Conduct structured training sessions covering:
- Introduction to Medical Coding and Healthcare System
- Medical Terminology (prefixes, suffixes, abbreviations)
- Anatomy & Physiology (major body systems)
- ICD-10-CM: structure, chapters, guidelines, coding rules
- CPT Coding: Evaluation & Management, Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Medicine
- HCPCS Level II: structure, application, modifiers
- Medical Billing & Reimbursement methodologies
- Compliance, ethics, HIPAA, and documentation standards
- Hands-on coding practice using real-world case scenarios
Curriculum & Session Planning
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, assessments, and practice exercises based on the syllabus.
- Ensure adherence to training timelines and learning outcomes.
Learner Engagement & Support
- Provide one-on-one guidance to learners needing additional support.
- Conduct assessments, quizzes, coding tests, and provide constructive feedback.
- Track learner progress and maintain attendance and performance records.
Industry Alignment
- Update training materials based on any changes to:
- ICD-10-CM updates
- CPT yearly updates
- CMS guidelines
- HCPCS revisions
