Medical Coder – ED/EM/Surgery

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Coder – ED/EM/Surgery to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses for emergency department, emergency medicine and surgery services. The candidate should have 1-5 years of experience in the job market context of India, and be familiar with ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding systems.

Responsibilities :

• Review medical records and assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures for ED/EM/Surgery services
• Ensure that coding meets regulatory and compliance requirements
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate coding
• Stay up-to-date with changes in coding regulations and guidelines

Skills and Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification
• 1-5 years of experience in medical coding for emergency department, emergency medicine and surgery services
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
