Medical Coder - E/M IP

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable E/M IP Coder with a minimum of 3

years of experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will specialize in

inpatient coding, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and accurate

documentation of patient encounters.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze inpatient medical records to determine appropriate E/M codes.

Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes based on clinical documentation

and coding guidelines.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure coding

accuracy.

Stay updated with coding changes, regulations, and best practices to maintain

accuracy and efficiency.

Participate in audits and provide feedback to improve documentation and coding

quality.

Assist in training and mentoring junior coding staff as needed.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA

regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in health information management or a related field (preferred).

Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent

certification (preferred).

Minimum of 3 years of experience in inpatient (IP) E/M coding.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and inpatient coding

guidelines.

Proficiency in coding software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
