Job Description

  • Welcome and greet patients in person or via telephone.
  • Verify patient information by interviewing, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
  • Prepare patients for healthcare visits by directing or accompanying them to examination rooms.
  • Perform preliminary physical tests, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature; summarize patient history.
  • Secure and maintain patient information confidentiality; complete diagnostic and procedure coding.
  • Counsel patients by communicating physician orders and answering questions regarding surgery.
  • Educate patients about medications, diet, and post-treatment instructions.
  • Schedule surgeries, coordinate with surgical centers, verify times with patients, and prepare charts and pre-admission forms.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, verify receipt, and maintain equipment through preventive maintenance.
  • Update professional knowledge through educational opportunities and publications.
  • Enhance practice reputation by taking ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value.
  • Complete medical records by documenting patient examinations, treatments, and test results.
  • Generate revenue by recording billing information, completing insurance forms, and responding to third-party inquiries.
