A Medical Affairs Manager / Advisor develops the local Medical Plan and contributes to the local business strategic and operational planning for defined therapy area. They will develop and deliver pre-launch and post-launch medical plans and activities.

They will ensure that all local medical requirements are met for all brand/TA material and will also use medical expertise to contribute to the marketing direction of the brand/TA. Will be recognized as a medical expert within the marketing company and will often guide and mentor other junior Medical Affairs colleagues.

A Medical Affairs Manager / Advisor leads in the delivery of operational excellence, impact, and efficiencies through measurable outcomes and a continuous improvement approach. Communicate on the quality delivery and value of the Medical Affairs team with good understanding of the internal business ecosystem (strategy, model, finances) and act as a key member of the local Medical Affairs team that contributes to the planning and execution of Medical Affairs strategies, working closely with the local medical and cross-functional teams.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll provide medical and clinical expertise in Oncology to both internal and external stakeholders. By focusing on the development of professional relationships with key opinion leaders, you'll build deep scientific understanding of AstraZeneca compounds by engaging them in ESRs, scientific exchange meetings and advisory board meetings. In addition, you will input into the brand strategy and life-cycle management and take the lead in the design and implementation of medical activities aligned with the brand strategy.

Essential Requirements:

  • Advanced scientific degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Oncology or Specialty Care, within Medical Affairs function within pharmaceutical industry
  • Extensive experience in relationship and stakeholder management
  • Project management experience

Desirable Requirements:

  • Qualified doctor
  • PhD in scientific discipline
  • Deep understanding of multiple aspects within Medical Affairs
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory developments
