Job Description – Strategic Media Planning Lead

Role Summary
We are looking for a strategic, solution-oriented marketing leader who can decode business challenges and transform them into insight-led, high-impact campaign strategies.
This role is ideal for a seasoned media strategist and campaign planner with strong expertise across both digital and offline media ecosystems. The ideal candidate should possess sharp commercial acumen, a deep understanding of audience behavior, and the ability to craft message-to-market strategies aligned with business objectives.
The individual will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve marketing and revenue challenges, and develop full-funnel campaigns that balance brand storytelling with measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Problem Solving & Campaign Architecture
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business challenges, growth opportunities, and brand positioning gaps.
- Translate business objectives into insight-driven media strategies and communication frameworks with measurable outcomes.
- Build full-funnel campaign narratives that align messaging with audience mindset across awareness, consideration, and conversion stages.
- Develop integrated campaign architectures tailored to specific business goals and market conditions.
2. Media Planning Across Channels
- Create 360-degree media plans leveraging the most effective mix of channels including:
- Digital: Search, Social, Display, Video, Programmatic, Performance Media
- Traditional: TV, Print, Radio, OOH
- Emerging Media: OTT, Influencer Marketing, Audio, Creator Ecosystems
- Understand the strategic role of each channel within the customer journey and optimize media allocation accordingly.
- Drive integrated planning approaches that combine performance efficiency with long-term brand visibility.
3. Message-to-Market Fit & Creative Alignment
- Partner with creative and content teams to develop messaging strategies aligned with audience psychology, consumer behavior, and brand tonality.
- Ensure creative communication aligns with campaign objectives, media strategy, and platform-specific best practices.
- Guide strategic content direction to improve audience engagement and campaign effectiveness.
4. Performance & Brand Campaign Integration
- Design campaign strategies that effectively balance brand-building initiatives with performance-driven outcomes.
- Utilize audience insights, market intelligence, and platform data signals to segment, target, and sequence communication across paid, owned, and earned channels.
- Continuously evaluate campaign performance and optimize strategies based on data, trends, and consumer response.
5. Client Leadership & Strategic Growth Advisory
- Act as a strategic advisor to clients by contributing beyond campaign execution and helping shape overall go-to-market strategies.
- Lead business reviews, analyze campaign impact, and recommend strategic improvements or new growth opportunities.
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to expand strategic and performance-led mandates across accounts.
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in media strategy, campaign planning, integrated marketing, or brand-performance consulting.
- Strong experience in solving business and marketing challenges through strategic media planning.
- Deep understanding of media planning principles, consumer journeys, brand strategy, and performance marketing metrics.
- Hands-on exposure to platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, YouTube, DV360, LinkedIn, OTT ecosystems, CRM/Email Marketing, and traditional media planning tools.
- Experience in campaign messaging development, creative briefing, and content strategy alignment.
- Excellent analytical, presentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred Profile
- Prior experience working with leading digital agencies, media networks, consulting firms, or digital-first brands.
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with brand, creative, analytics, media buying, and client servicing teams.
- Proven experience managing high-stakes client relationships across diverse industries such as FMCG, BFSI, E-commerce, Retail, and Consumer Brands.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with an executional understanding of integrated marketing campaigns.
