Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and troubleshoot robotic applications within Lam's automation systems.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate on mechanical, electrical, and software components to optimize system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Create detailed design documentation, technical specifications, and system architecture for robotics and control solutions.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems to enable autonomous operation and intelligent system behavior.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Design and execute experiments using Design of Experiments (DOE) principles to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Generate clear technical reports, presentations, and data-driven analyses to communicate findings and recommend engineering solutions.
  • Apply engineering theories, analytical methods, and research techniques to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues.
  • Act as a liaison for cross-functional projects, collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on robotic system design and performance.
  • Develop robotic path programming and apply computer vision techniques to enhance system autonomy and precision.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Robotics, Computer Vision, Path Planning, Control Theory, Sensor Fusion, or Deep Learning.
  • Expert-level programming proficiency in C++ and Python with strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with ROS2 in complex or commercial robotics projects.
  • Proven experience developing and deploying large-scale robotics software solutions from concept to implementation.
  • Proficiency with Git or similar version control systems and experience with modern software development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with robotic hardware design and end effector development; proficiency in MCAD modeling.
  • Familiarity with the MoveIt framework and simulation environments such as Gazebo or Isaac Sim.
  • Publications in top-tier robotics or computer vision conferences (ICRA, IROS, RSS, CVPR) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of URScript programming and experience with Behavior Trees is an advantage.
