Job Purpose
Mechanical Technician will support technicians and mechanics in the repair and maintenance of marine outboard engines. The role involves assisting with mechanical tasks, maintaining tools and inventory, ensuring workshop cleanliness, and learning marine engine repair practices while contributing to efficient service delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist technicians and mechanics in marine engine repair and maintenance activities, including disassembly and assembly of engine components.
- Handle tools and equipment safely and efficiently during repair operations.
- Organize and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment; ensure timely restocking and proper storage.
- Clean and prepare engine components, tools, and work areas by removing grease, oil, and debris.
- Support setup, maintenance, and cleaning of workshop equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Provide general workshop support such as fetching tools, assisting team members, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Actively learn marine engine repair techniques and improve technical skills through on-the-job training.
- Strictly follow safety guidelines and procedures while handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- School diploma (Diploma in a related field preferred).
- Interest in marine mechanics and engines.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn.
- Physical fitness to perform manual and workshop-related tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good organizational skills for managing parts and tools.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and coordination.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools.
