We are expanding our engineering team and are looking for a Mechanical Architect / Technical Lead to drive the design and delivery of high-reliability precision enclosures and integrated mechanical systemsfrom concept to prototype qualification and low-rate production.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems involving structures, sealing, environmental control interfaces, handling/transport features, and rigorous testing, and can translate requirements into a manufacturable, testable, serviceable product.
Key Responsibilities
- Own mechanical architecture and detailed design of complex enclosure-based systems
- Develop design solutions for structure, access mechanisms, sealing strategy, and serviceability
- Drive integration of auxiliary subsystems (e.g., filtration, thermal management interfaces, instrumentation mounts, safety devices, plumbing/cable routing)
- Lead tolerance strategy and critical interface definition (drawings, GD&T, stack-ups, fit-up plans)
- Create complete engineering deliverables: CAD models, drawings, BOMs, manufacturing plans, assembly SOPs, inspection checkpoints
- Collaborate with manufacturing to develop jigs/fixtures and streamline build cycles
- Support validation and qualification testing: leak/seal tests, load tests, functional tests, environmental checks; define acceptance criteria and report results
- Lead supplier development and technical alignment for fabrication, machining, coatings, seals, windows, fasteners, etc.
Required Qualifications
- 815+ years of hands-on mechanical design and product realization experience
- Strong experience in sheet-metal / welded structures (Al/SS), fabrication design, DFM/DFA
- Demonstrated expertise in sealed enclosures: gasket design, latch mechanisms, compression control, IP-style sealing concepts
- Ability to drive projects from ambiguity to execution: requirements concept design freeze build test release
- Strong documentation discipline: drawings, revision control, failure/issue tracking, test readiness
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Exposure to regulated or high-reliability environments (industrial, defense, aerospace, cleanroom, medical devices, semiconductors, automotive)
- Experience integrating electromechanical systems and instrumentation into mechanical packages
- Familiarity with basic risk methods (FMEA), verification planning, and FAT/SAT style deliverables
What We Offer
- Opportunity to lead end-to-end engineering projects with real ownership
- High-impact role in a fast-moving manufacturing environment
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience + performance-linked growth
