Mechanical Supervisor

• Role Description The Mechanical Supervisor is an on-site contract position in Navi Mumbai responsible for directing daily mechanical, fabrication, and erection activities. Key duties include managing site crews, scheduling tasks, monitoring equipment performance, and conducting inspections to minimize downtime. The supervisor coordinates with project engineers and client representatives, maintains project documentation, and strictly enforces HSE protocols and quality standards across all mechanical works.

Qualifications

1. Educational Background: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
2. Oil & Gas Storage Tank Expertise: Hands-on experience in API 650/API 620 storage tank fabrication, field erection, and assembly within refinery, terminal, or petrochem settings.
3. Supervisory Leadership: Strong supervisory capability to direct site crews, manage daily task allocations, and coordinate structural, fitting, and welding teams on-site.
4. Standards & Drawings: Proficient in reading API tank fabrication/erection drawings, isometric details, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and equipment layouts.
5. Safety & Permit Systems: In-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas safety protocols, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), hot work permits, confined space entry, working at heights, and risk assessments.
6. Quality & NDT Knowledge: Familiarity with quality control requirements, shell/bottom plate fitting tolerances, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (RT, UT, PT, MT), and hydrostatic/vacuum testing procedures.
7. Communication & Coordination: Good technical communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interface with QC inspectors, client representatives, and sub-contractors.
8. Location & Flexibility: Willingness to work on-site in Navi Mumbai with flexible shift hours aligned with project timelines and critical lifts/milestones.
