We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, operation, and optimization of mechanical infrastructure for mission-critical data centers. The role focuses on high-availability cooling systems, energy efficiency, reliability, and compliance with global data centre standards. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with large-scale data centres and a proven track record of delivering resilient, efficient mechanical solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering

  • Lead the design, review, and approval of mechanical systems including:
  • Chilled water systems
  • Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
  • CRAH/CRAC units
  • Cooling towers
  • Pumps, piping, and heat exchangers
  • HSD system
  • LC/CDU system
  • Develop and review concept, schematic, and detailed designs for new and existing data centres
  • Perform load calculations, airflow modelling, and redundancy analysis (N, N+1, 2N)
  • Support retrofit and expansion projects with minimal downtime

Operations & Reliability

  • Ensure 24/7 availability and reliability of mechanical systems in live data centre environments
  • Develop and review SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs
  • Lead root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
  • Oversee commissioning, testing, and integrated systems testing (IST)

Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

  • Drive improvements in PUE, WUE, and overall energy efficiency
  • Implement best practices for free cooling, economization, and heat recovery
  • Support sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction goals

Vendor & Project Management

  • Manage consultants, contractors, and OEMs
  • Review technical submittals, shop drawings, and method statements
  • Support budgeting, cost estimation, and value engineering
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes such as:
  • ASHRAE (TC 9.9)
  • NFPA
  • ISO
  • Local building and safety codes
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Collaborate with electrical, IT, facilities, and operations teams
  • Act as a subject matter expert for mechanical systems across the data center portfolio

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in data centre or mission-critical facilities
  • Strong expertise in cooling systems for high-density data centres
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning and live site operations
  • Proficiency in engineering tools (AutoCAD, Revit, load calculation software)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
