Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Lead Engineer to lead and support end-to-end product development initiatives within our engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have deep mechanical design expertise, strong project leadership capabilities, and hands-on proficiency with CAD tools such as CATIA, UG-NX (Siemens NX), and Creo. A background in heavy engineering or Industrial equipment is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering activities across the full product development lifecycle from concept design through validation, prototyping, testing, and release.
  • Manage cross-functional team's collaboration.
  • Develop project execution plans, engineering deliverables, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Drive design reviews, DFMEA sessions, and ensure adherence to technical requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure project milestones & timelines are met with high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership in mechanical system design, modeling, and analysis for complex heavy-engineering products.
  • Create 3D/2D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using CATIA, UG-NX, and Creo.
  • Apply design-for-manufacturability, design-for-assembly, and design-for-serviceability principles.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection, structural integrity checks, and performance assessments.
  • Review engineering documentation, change requests, and technical specifications.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and cross-functional technical teams.

Technical Expertise & Support

  • Review designs, provide technical clarifications, and ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Support prototype builds, shop-floor integration, and validation testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex design, manufacturing, or integration issues and implement robust engineering solutions.
  • Prepare engineering reports, design documents, and technical presentations for stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality systems.
  • Maintain strong configuration management and engineering change control.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1215 years of experience in mechanical engineering and product development.
  • Proven track record in leading engineering projects in the heavy engineering, machinery, automotive, construction equipment, or industrial equipment domain.
  • Strong proficiency in CATIA, UG-NX (Siemens NX), and Creo CAD environments.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems, structural components, hydraulics/pneumatics (preferred), and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, FEA fundamentals, and engineering standards.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, communication, and problemsolving skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Certification in project management (PMP/Prince2) is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to PLM tools such as Teamcenter, ENOVIA, or Windchill.
  • Experience with value engineering, cost reduction, and reliability engineering.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to make technically sound, datadriven decisions.
