Ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of all generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems.
Ensures full compliance with Statutory HSS, environmental and technical requirements from central and state governmental bodies (i.e. CEA, CERC, DSA, SCEI, AP/CPCB etc. compliances).
Contribute to developing safe systems of work (SSOW) procedures, including HIRA, PTW, LOTO, JSA etc. for your area.
To provide oversight of all mechanical maintenance activities, management of the maintenance teams, financial control, contract management, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, technical compliance, risk evaluations and relationship management.
Prepare maintenance strategy to achieve higher reliability (maximized MTTF) and greater efficiency (minimized MTTR) and implement the maintenance plans at plant level accordingly.
Lead equipment failure investigations and analysis, establish RCA framework and implement performance monitoring, corrective actions and continuous improvement methodology, for your area.
Maintain plant machinery to ensure it's at acceptable standards, aiming at zero breakdown.
Preparation of service contract and contract management for mechanical maintenance works outsourced to external service providers.
Preparation and implementation of complete plant maintenance reports and checklists, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and checklists.
Prepare and manage plant maintenance budget, work to optimize the costs and maximize production. This includes developing and tracking the monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance budgets.
Define and monitor maintenance plans to achieve yearly Generation targets and yearly agreed Plant/Machines Availability targets.
Delegates and assigns work tasks to mechanical maintenance team to maintain optimum plant performance.
Support O&M head in plant improvement projects and modernization initiatives.
Maintains plant critical spares inventory for your area, to meet the exigencies.
Lead, train and develop mechanical maintenance team at Plant and prepare a detailed training calendar for mechanical maintenance team accordingly.
Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate maintenance related risks and ensure compliance with internal audits.
Prepares and maintains plant mechanical maintenance records and presents the same to management on need basis.
Inspects and monitors production equipment to ensure operational healthiness, maintain a cost-effective production process, by utilizing optimum resources to achieve generation targets.
IMS implementation, documentation preparation and updating, pertaining to your area.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Advanced certifications in maintenance management are preferred.
Professional certification on QA/QC/NDT is preferred.
Proven expertise maintenance within hydro power generation sector, with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of Statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to Hydro/PSP Plants.
Maintenance experience of large-scale pump storage power plants is preferred.
Managed Team of Engineers and technicians, working as section head for hydro / PSP plant equipment maintenance works for at least 10 years.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for Plant maintenance works.
Knowledge of analytics tools for performance optimization and risk assessment.
